Tip: Keep cell phone number when switching wireless carriers
Beginning on November 2003, you can keep your current cell phone number when you switch wireless carriers. The Federal Communications Commissions (FCC) requires wireless carriers to allow you to keep the number if you want to.
Now, you can compare cell phone service providers, make a
switch to another provider and save. To avoid early termination
penalty fee, wait until your current phone contract ends before
changing wireless carriers.
